The Eastern European telecommunications service market
including Cable TV should evolve at a CAAGR (Compounded
Average Annual Growth Rate) of about 18% over
the period 1999-2004, accounting for nearly US$46
billion in 2004, about 4% of the total world market for
communications services (Tab. 1). The growth rate of the
Eastern European countries taken as a whole will large-ly
overtake the general growth trends of the world service
markets, growing over the same period by "only" about
