In search of greener pastures

This article presents a brief analysis of the financial performance of eight main European incumbents namely BT, Deutsche Telekom, France Télécom, KPN, Swisscom, Telecom Italia, Telefónica and TeliaSonera. As seen from Fig. 1, in 2001 and 2002, the cumulated net income of these eight operators went deep into the red.
