Business models in the online tourism industry

The focus of the article is on the residential tourism market in Germany as the overall European travel market experiences flatness while the German one is growing fast. Consequently, the main examples will come from Germany but we will try to reach some conclusions as to the universality of the business models seen in Germany. Furthermore, the analysis will focus on two main tourist players, namely tour operators and travel agencies.
