IPTV in France


Overview The French IPTV market is one of the most active in Europe with several market players, including France Télécom, Free and Neuf Cegetel, already offering IPTV services. Foreign telecom incumbents, such as Telecom Italia and Deutsche Telekom, have also entered the IPTV French arena through their business units in the country. Since the first IPTV service deployment, France has been experiencing a fairly high uptake of the service with about 679 000 subscribers at June 2006, the highest in Europe and world’s second largest, after Hong Kong.
