As in previous years, Deutsche Telekom remained the top player in Eastern Europe in 2005 in the total telecommunications market (fixed telephony, mobile telephony, data communications, Internet and cable TV services). As depicted in Fig. 1, Deutsche Telekom had 10.4% market share, followed closely by Sistema with 9.8%. TPSA (9% of the market) and Svyazinvest (6%), formerly in second and third positions, moved a notch lower as Sistema overtook them both. More...
