Mobile phones population penetration
Fig. 1 shows the increasing mobile penetration rates in the USA, in Canada and inselected countries in Asia. Among the countries observed, the USA had the highest increase in mobile population penetration: from 72% in 2005 it increased by 7 percentage points to 79% in 2006. China had the second highest increase, from 30% to 35%. Canada recorded nearly as high an increase as China, from 52% to 57%, while both Japan and India experienced a 4 percentage points increase in mobile penetration from 2005 to 2006.
